The Lufthansa Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) pilots' union have announced a strike for Friday 2 September 2022. This will have a strong impact on flight operations, affecting round-trip tourist travel at the end of the school holidays in Germany, but also from other countries. Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo flights from German airports will be affected.

Lufthansa is forced to cancel 800 flights from/to Frankfurt and Munich, with single flights being canceled as of today, Thursday, September 1. An estimated 130.000 passengers will be affected.

Lufthansa is working with joint forces to return its flight operations to a normal state as quickly as possible. However, the effects of the strike may still result in individual flight cancellations or delays this Saturday and Sunday.

Eurowings and Eurowings Discover flights are not affected by this strike and are scheduled to operate as planned. Passengers affected by the cancellations will be informed immediately during the day and will be re-routed on alternative flights if possible.

Flights between Frankfurt and Bucharest and Munich and Bucharest airports are also cancelled. The other scheduled flights between the airports in Germany and those in Romania are in the chart. For better situational accuracy, check the flight status with the airline operator. If you have scheduled flights with Lufthansa, check your email for any information.
