Norwegian recorded 96% fewer flights in January compared to the same period in 2020, the figures being strongly influenced by low demand, caused by travel restrictions imposed in Europe.

In January, only 74.224 passengers flew with Norwegian, down 96% from the same period last year. Capacity (ASK) decreased by 98% and total passenger traffic (RPK) decreased by 99%. The load factor was 35.9 percent, down 45 percentage points.

Jacob Schram, the company's CEO norwegian, stated: "The pandemic continues to have a negative impact on our business, as travel restrictions remain. We are doing everything we can to get out of this crisis, stronger and more competitive, and we look forward to serving more customers as travel restrictions are lifted. ”

Norwegian used only eight aircraft in January, mainly on domestic routes in Norway. The company operated 96.8% of its scheduled flights in January, of which 90.4% left on time.
