The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalls that, according to the information publicly provided by the Dutch authorities, Romania continues to be included in the orange zone (high risk zone), for which it is recommended avoiding travel except as strictly necessary. In other words, travel for tourism is not recommended.

The Dutch authorities continue to strongly recommend self-isolation at home for a period of 14 days to persons moving / returning from states included in the orange zone, therefore also to citizens moving from Romania.

As an additional measure, the Dutch authorities have announced the collection of contact details of people coming from risk areas. Also the Dutch authorities will carry out checks to verify compliance with the self-isolation measure.

Given the imminent resumption of pre-university and university courses, young people and students coming / coming back to the Netherlands from risk areas are especially advised to comply with all protection measures, including self-isolation.

In addition to previous measures, a test center for SARS-CoV-2 infection will be operational at Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam). All citizens returning from risk areas will be able to be tested, free of charge, whether or not they show symptoms specific to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Regardless of the result of the test or its performance, the firm recommendation on self-isolation at home for a period of 14 days remains valid. Similar measures will be implemented at Eindhoven and Rotterdam airports.
