On March 25, the winner of the tender for the design and construction of the outbound terminal was announced. After signing the contract, the Romanian builder Concelex SRL must complete the works by December 31, 2023.
Funded from non-reimbursable European funds, from the state budget and from the airport's own revenues, the contract was awarded at a value of 88,99 million lei. The new terminal will have a built area of 12.000 square meters, 6 security filters, 18 check-in counters and 6 automatic document scanning gates. The construction will complete the External Racing Arrivals terminal which has been in operation since July 2021.
