To improve the experience of its passengers and to make the time spent at the airport more efficient, Air France announced the launch of the "ICC AOKpass" application, developed by MedAire / SOS International. ICC AOKpass is a mobile application, available for download on smartphones and which allows passengers to securely record the results of the COVID test performed in a partner laboratory.

Once at the airport, passengers present the test results on their mobile phone, instead of a test printed on paper. ICC AOKpass verifies that the test presented is valid and complies with the regulations of the destination country, through a secure network that uses blockchain technology.

The testing period of this digital solution will start on March 11, 2021 and will last four weeks, with the support of Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The test will be performed on all Air France flights from Paris-CDG to Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) and Fort-de-France (Martinique).

Launch of the "ICC AOKpass" application

It will be done voluntarily, to test the functionality of the application in real time and to find out the opinions of passengers regarding the mobile application. Air France will share this feedback with other companies in the Skyteam alliance, which is currently testing various solutions for digitizing health documents, in connection with COVID-19.

In addition to testing the ICC AOKpass application, Air France makes every effort to assist its passengers and inform them in real time about the evolution of travel formalities. In this regard, passengers have a dedicated website on airfrance.traveldoc.aero.

Air France has applied the strictest health measures

Since the beginning of the crisis, Air France has applied the strictest health measures and offers its passengers full ticket flexibility, with the possibility to postpone or cancel any trip planned before 31 December 2021, free of charge and without additional evidence. These measures are grouped under the Air France Protect label and are regularly reviewed as the situation evolves. As part of Skytrax's "COVID-19 Safety Rating" rating, Air France Protect recently received a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

"Improving and simplifying the passenger travel experience is an ongoing priority for Air France. The testing of the ICC AOKpass application is fully in line with these principles and with our initiative to implement the Air France Protect label. We are convinced that the changes we are going through collectively will permanently change our travels and we are committed to supporting all innovation projects that can help us meet these new challenges. " said Catherine Villar, Director of Customer Experience - Air France.

"We are excited to support Air France in testing the ICC AOKpass application. We will do everything we can to ensure the success of this experiment, to achieve the goal shared by the entire industry: to reopen the sky safely.", Said Sébastien Bedu, Product Manager - Airport Services for MedAire, the international SOS division specialized in supporting the aeronautical and maritime industries.

AOKpass is the partner of many laboratories around the world, including the Cerballiance and Biogroup groups in France.
