Airbus A380 British Airways took off on the first long-haul flight to Los Angeles

September 24 Day 2013 will enter history British Airways. It's the first date A380 British Airways took off in the first long-haul commercial flight. After a series of short-haul flights, the superjumbo made its debut on the route London Heathrow-Los Angeles, the first commercial race overseas.

LOW flight took off from Heathrow Airport, from 5 Terminal, at 16: 30 (local time) and will land in Los Angeles at 19.23 (local time). British Airways is the first airline to link London Heathrow to Los Angeles with Airbus A380.

Between September 24 and October 15, the route will be operated according to the following schedule:

BA283 LHR 12: 05 - 15: 10 LAX 388 Monday, Friday
BA269 LHR 16: 15 - 19: 15 LAX 388 Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

BA282 LAX 17: 45 - 12: 00 + 1 LHR 388 Monday, Friday
BA268 LAX 21: 30 - 15: 45 + 1 LHR 388 Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

From October 27, BA269 / 268 flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays.

Airbus A380 British Airways took off on the first long-haul flight

British Airways will introduce Airbus A380 aircraft to Hong Kong (22 October) and Johannesburg (Tue Feb. 12).

First Airbus A380 BA was delivered on 4 July. British Airways A380 aircraft has 469 seating capacity in all four cabs. Customers in First cabin will occupy the seats at the front of the main deck. The cabin will offer 14 seats and is an improvement over the current First class, offering 30% more personal space and 60% more storage space.

Customers in the Club World (business) cabin can choose from the 44 seats on the main deck or the 53 seats on the upper deck. The seats on the upper deck will have a new 2: 3: 2 configuration throughout the cabin.

The 55 seats in the World Traveler Plus (economy plus) cabin will be on the upper deck, while guests in the World Traveler (economic) class can choose seats on both the main and upper deck. Customers traveling to the World Traveler and World Traveler Plus classes will be able to enjoy the new cabins and seats that are so popular on the British Airways 777-300ER fleet.

British Airways has ordered 12 Airbus A380 aircraft (two have already arrived in the fleet) and 24 of Boeing 787 units (three are already in the fleet and fly to Toronto), these being the most modern aircraft in operational service.
