Assembly of the first Airbus A330-800neo has begun

I fell in love with aviation, airplanes and flights. I am fascinated by the technology and the way it contributes substantially to the construction of airplanes. I like it because it is a dynamic field and you have no way to get bored or capped.

Since launching the Airlinestravel.ro site, I have had the joy and enthusiasm to write about many airlines, flights, but also about many airplanes, some in commercial service, others just coming out of the design.

I announce that the first A330-800neo has begun to be assembled at the Airbus base in Toulouse. Will operate the first flight in the middle of 2018. It is a new aircraft, designed on the old A330, which is successful among the air carriers.

A330-800neo comes to complement the A330neo family of aircraft, of which it is also part A330-900neo, big Brother. Both versions are similar in proportion to 99%, which makes them very accessible to companies. They are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines.

The new A330neo aircraft have borrowed some aerodynamic and interior technologies from the Airbus A350 XWB. At the same time, the new airplanes come with a very sought after facility among the airlines, that of consuming up to 25% less fuel compared to the planes of the present.

The A330 family of aircraft has enjoyed real success. Over 1700 aircraft were ordered, of which 1300 was delivered to 117 customers. The A330 aircraft fleet has exceeded the threshold of 1 million flights.

A330 is a reliable, flexible and versatile aircraft that can be used on medium, long routes. The new generation A330neo can carry between 257 and maximum 440 of passengers (the maximum density allowed for A330-900neo). And the flight range can vary from 12000 kilometers to 13 890 kilometers. The A330neo version of 251 MTOW tones can have a range of 15 000 kilometers.

Airbus has high hopes for A330neo. It will be the most profitable and most efficient aircraft in its category.
