Wizz Air today announced a new base in the UK, at Gatwick Airport. This will be the 3rd base Wizz Air UK, the airline registered in Great Britain, together with London Luton and recently announced base at Doncaster Sheffield.
Wizz will allocate an Airbus A320 aircraft to the hub of south London and launch new routes to holiday destinations in Greece, Italy, Spain and Malta from 22 October 2020.

Wizz Air began flying from Gatwick in 2016, and has since carried close 1 million passengers. With the creation of a new base in Gatwick, Wizz Air will offer passengers more and more accessible travel opportunities, with 450.000 seats a year for sale on its new routes to popular holiday destinations, inclusive Athens (Greece), Naples (Italy), Lanzarote (Spain) and Malta for the rest of the year.

And to celebrate the expansion of Gatwick in London today, Wizz Air has launched a special 72-hour offer for its WIZZ Flex service, offering passengers a 50% discount on all routes from London Gatwick. Flights must be booked on wizzair.com between August 18 and 20, 2020, and travel can be scheduled whenever you want. This announcement follows the recent expansion of Doncaster Sheffield, the first regional base, where the airline will allocate an Airbus A320 aircraft and launch seven new routes to destinations that include Alicante, Malaga, Larnaca, Faro, Lublin, Kosice and Suceava in October 2020.
Adding these new ones routes from Gatwick and Doncaster Sheffield represents a significant growth of the British network Wizz Air UK, now operating 119 routes to 69 destinations from 11 UK airports.
The creation of these two new Wizz Air bases UK is a continuation of a period of rapid growth across the Wizz Air network, with recent announcements about us based on WIZZ: Doncaster Sheffield, Bacau, Dortmund, Lviv, Larnaca, Milan-Malpensa, Tirana, St. Petersburg and the launch of over 200 new routes on the network in April 2020. Today's announcement will allow Wizz Air to create over 40 direct jobs and over 125 indirect jobs in the region.
