Carpatair withdrew the last commercial Fokker 100 from the fleet, but also from Europe!

On November 29, 2023, the Romanian carrier Carpatair (V3) officially withdrew the last Fokker 100 from its fleet, as well as from Europe. The aircraft involved in this event was YR-FKB (MSN: 11369), a Fokker 100 that had been in commercial service for 32 years.

The aircraft left the factory gates in 1991 and was delivered to American Airlines. He joined the Carpatair fleet in 2005, and over the years he flew for Carpatair, but also for other airlines, such as Air Baltic, Petro Air or PGA Portugalia Airlines.

Over the years, Carpatair has had six Fokker aircraft in its fleet: three Fokker 70s (YR-KMA, YR-KMB and YR-KMC) and three Fokker 100s (YR-FKA, YR-FKB and YR-FZA). The first were retired in 2012, and the Fokker 100 aircraft were retired in 2020-2023.

The last commercial flight operated by Fokker 100 Carpatair was on November 5, code V3253, on the route Palermo - Timișoara. And the last flight in the aircraft's track record was operated on November 29, from Timișoara to Bergen op Zoom for storage.

Currently, there are still two Fokker 100 aircraft in Europe, but they are not used in commercial service, but VVIP service, they are owned by the Slovak government.
