The National Committee for Emergency Situations adopted in the meeting of December 6, 2021 Decision number 111 for establishing the rules for applying the quarantine measure on persons arriving in Romania valid between 10.12.2021 at 00:00 - 08.01.2022 at 24:00.

We would try to explain to everyone what these rules mean, how they apply and what needs to be done to avoid quarantine.

But the new rules also come with a number of exceptions, regardless of whether people are vaccinated or not:

  • Children aged 12 and under are exempt from quarantine, regardless of the country from which they travel to Romania.
  • Unvaccinated people traveling from the EU RED area or from third countries are not quarantined if their stay in Romania is less than 3 days, provided they show the negative result of an RT-PCR test, performed with a maximum of 72 hours before embarkation (EU area) / no later than 48 hours before embarkation (non-EU area), upon entry. If the persons do not leave the national territory within 3 days (72 hours), with the information of the public health directorate of the county in which they live or where they have the address declared at the entrance to the country, they will be quarantined for a period of 14 days. , starting with the fourth day after entering the Romanian territory.
  • persons in transit, if they leave Romania within 24 hours of entering the country.

In addition to these exceptions, you can see the rest of the lists in the official document issued by CNSU.
