The Cypriot authorities have published the updated list of countries, which entered into force yesterday, 21 June. According to the list based on the traffic light system, the authorities have placed Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Finland and Slovakia on the green list after these countries reported low rates of COVID-19 infection in recent weeks.

"It is noted that passengers coming from countries on the green list are not required to hold a COVID-19 test certificate or to self-isolate," authorities said. Except for the countries above and those in the previous assessment, green list also includes the following countries:

  • Member States of the European Union: Malta, Poland, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Finland and Slovakia
  • Schengen countries: Iceland and Norway
  • Third countries: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Israel

On the other hand, all travelers arriving from the countries on the orange list are required to provide the negative result of a coronavirus test upon entry into the country, a test that was not performed more than 72 hours before entering. on Cypriot territory. Orange list includes countries, as indicated in the following list:

  • Member States of the European Union: Portugal, Ireland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Greece, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Sweden
  • Third countries: China (including Hong Kong and Macau), United Kingdom, United States of America and Japan

Regarding red list of the countries, the only countries left in the EU are Spain and the Netherlands. Passengers arriving from the countries on the red list are subject to a double test requirement, which means that they must provide the negative result of a test that was not performed more than 72 hours before departure to Cyprus and perform another test on arrival in Cyprus. Until the test results are received, the passenger must remain isolated.

Countries that have not been mentioned in any of the above categories are placed on gray list. Travel from one of the gray countries is only allowed to Cypriot citizens and members of their families, citizens of EU or EEA Member States and Swiss nationals.
