ECDC has updated the epidemiological index: Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal and Switzerland are below Romania

0 2.089

At the moment, globally, countries impose travel restrictions for those traveling from other countries / territories / regions according to an index of contagiousness, depending on the new strains discovered, depending on the performance of the health system and many other factors that may influence the decisions of the authorities.

Romania has chosen to generate a single list, so specific Romania's yellow list (last updated on 19 February 2021), which classifies countries / territories and regions according to the epidemiological index reported by ECDC.

European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reports an index calculated for 14 days each week. E.g, on March 4, the list of the epidemiological index reported for February 15-28 was published.

If the Romanian authorities, in this case the National Committee for Emergency Situations, NOW updated this list, countries such as Switzerland and Ireland would turn green. Bulgaria would enter instead.

Below Romania is the United Kingdom with Portugal, but taking into account the new strains, they are most likely to be exceptions and anti-COVID measures continue to apply to them. It remains to be seen what the authorities will decide and we look forward to updating the yellow list.
