ECDC updates the epidemiological index: Qatar, Spain and the United States have the index below that of Romania (March 11, 2021)

At the moment, globally, countries impose travel restrictions for those traveling from other countries / territories / regions according to an index of contagiousness, depending on the new strains discovered, depending on the performance of the health system and many other factors that may influence the decisions of the authorities.

Romania has chosen to generate a single list, so specific Romania's yellow list (last updated on 5 March 2021), which classifies countries / territories and regions according to the epidemiological index reported by ECDC.

European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reports an index calculated for 14 days each week. For example, today, March 11, 2021, the list with the epidemiological index reported for the period November 22 - March 7 was published.

If the Romanian authorities, in this case the National Committee for Emergency Situations, update the yellow list, Qatar, Spain and the United States have all the chances to get off the yellow list. While Bosnia & Herzegovina and Liechtenstein enter the yellow list. But we must not forget that many countries are facing new strains of coronavirus and some countries, even if they have the lower index of Romania, may enter into exceptions.

The United Kingdom is also under Romania, but given the new strains, it will most likely remain the exception and anti-COVID measures will continue to apply. It remains to be seen what the authorities will decide and we look forward to updating the yellow list.

ECDC report published on Thursday, March 11, for the period February 22-March 7

However, there is something strange about this top 100. Spain is missing! At the previous update, Spain had an index of 251.92. We know that the situation in Spain is good, the index is declining, but we do not think that it has fallen so much that it reaches position 128 with only 14.91 / 100 inhabitants.

The Spanish authorities announce an index of 116/100 inhabitants over the last 000 days. He has great chances to get out of Romania's yellow list, if not this week, he would definitely come out next week. Romania's index is starting to rise. But we are officially waiting for the CORRECT figures from ECDC.

CAREFUL!!! This is NOT officially Romania's yellow list. We are waiting to see when and if the authorities will update it these days!
