Switzerland has introduced an entry quarantine for UK citizens because of the Omicron strain, which has already been detected in many countries around the world.

The decision came into force last week and applies to all British travelers who have been completely vaccinated against COVID-19. Travelers from the UK who want to travel to Switzerland must provide proof of full vaccination, take a COVID test before arrival and be quarantined for ten days.

"From November 27, travelers arriving in Switzerland from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and wishing to travel further to another country will have to self-quarantine in Switzerland for ten days. There is no quarantine requirement for those in transit at the airport. ".

Unvaccinated travelers can only enter Switzerland if they are Swiss citizens, EU citizens, EFTA and other holders of a residence permit. Travelers who are not fully vaccinated and do not meet one of the above criteria are not eligible to enter Switzerland.

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) show that the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom in the last seven days has reached 299.581. At the same time, 874 deaths were reported.
