Protocol of entry into Greece if you fly. No advance COVID-19 test required.

If you have planned a holiday in Greece and have chosen to travel by plane, below you have the new protocol imposed by the Greek authorities. It should be mentioned that there is no need for a COVID-19 test done in advance.

Once you arrive at one of the airports in Greece, you will be transferred to the area where the medical staff is located. Travelers are invited to present their QR code either on their mobile phone screen or in print.

If the flight starts before the day of landing in Greece, passengers are allowed to board after the confirmation email is displayed (and not necessarily after receiving the QR code, which is scheduled to arrive during the trip.

Depending on the QR code / confirmation, passengers are directed either to the screening area where they will be tested for the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus by a trained medical team or to the exit (to the baggage claim area or passport control).

After completing the test, passengers are directed to the exit (to the baggage claim area or passport control).

Test results will be available within 24 hours. During this time, tested passengers are advised to practice social distancing according to local guidelines and self-monitoring for symptoms that may indicate COVID-19.

In case of such symptoms, seek medical advice and / or contact the Center for National Public Health Organization (EODY) immediately.

Only if the tests are positive, the authorities will contact those people and will continue the health protocol in force. Otherwise, tourists can enjoy the holidays, respecting the general rules of public health.

If tourists plan to have more stops in Greece, they must state this and report their initial destination and their travel itinerary for the next 7 days.

All passengers must comply with all necessary preventive hygiene measures (use of masks and physical distance), in accordance with local guidelines.
