Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Africa, is preparing to take possession of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The event will take place on August 14, in Seattle, Washington, in the presence of Ethiopian officials, media, IMF representatives, US senators and other guests.
The event is special because the Ethiopian carrier is the first in Africa, Europe, America and the Middle East to operate this type of aircraft. Globally, All Nippon Airways was the first airline to take possession of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, starting with the fall of 2011.
The inaugural Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight under Ethiopian Airlines will be made between August 15-16 departing from Washington DC and arriving at Bole Addis Ababa International Airport. It is a special flight where there are no vacant places anymore!
In about a month, the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner operated by Ethiopian Airlines will also enter regular scheduled commercial routes. The Ethiopian operator has an order for 10 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
