Icelandair announces 2 new routes from Iceland to Spain: Barcelona and Tenerife South
Icelandair has announced the resumption of flights to Spain starting with the summer season 2021, strengthening its commitment to the Spanish market. It will operate flights on 3 direct routes between Iceland and Spain according to the 2021 summer program.
It will resume flights on the route Reykjavik - Madrid, a traditional destination for Icelandair. At the same time, it will start operating flights on routes Reykjavik - Barcelona, announced in the summer of 2020 and which had to be postponed due to restrictions, and Reykjavik - Tenerife South.
Icelandair will operate 3 weekly flights on the route Reykjavik - Madrid, between May 29 and September 18. On the route Reykjavik - Barcelona, Icelandair will operate a weekly flight every Saturday from June 12 to September 11. Linked to the route Reykjavik - Tenerife South, Icelandair will operate 2 flights a week from 1 May to 30 October.
The flights will be operated with Boeing 757-200 aircraft, a single-aisle aircraft, but dedicated to medium and long flights. They will be able to offer on board several fare classes: Economy Light, Economy Standard, Economy Flex, Saga Premium and Saga Premium Flex. The duration of the flights will be approximately 4 hours.
