Lufthansa offers - again - its passengers an easier check-in process. For all 2000 weekly flights operated from non-risk areas of the Schengen area to Germany, passengers can be issued a boarding pass directly on their mobile phone at check-in.

This is possible through the automatic and digital verification of EU COVID Digital Certificates, which prove that the holder has been vaccinated, sick or tested negative, and the results of Covid-19 tests performed at Centogene laboratories.

The airline advises its guests that, in addition to the digital proof, passengers should also have the original printed certificates with them, until further notice.

During mobile check-in, QR codes on certificates can be scanned and verified quickly and conveniently. This means that the digital boarding pass can be issued and no further verification of documents is required at the airport check-in counter.

The same goes for many other flights: anyone who is worried about not having the right travel certificates can check them at a Lufthansa center up to 72 hours before departure. These can be proof of tests, vaccination or the fact that the holder has gone through the disease. Thanks to new digital solutions, the verification is now partially automatic and therefore much faster.

Lufthansa has launched new catering concept "Onboard Delights" for European flights. The new menu contains a high quality range of fresh meals, snacks and drinks available for purchase in Economy class, sustainable food and organic packaging and a free surprise with water and chocolate for all passengers.
