The Maltese authorities have announced that the country will drop the COVID-19 entry restrictions on 25 July. According to Malta's official travel portal, Visit Malta, all passengers will be allowed unrestricted entry from 25 July. This means that Malta will no longer require travelers to present a certificate of vaccination, recovery or testing on arrival.
"From 25 July 2022, persons traveling to Malta without a vaccine certificate or recovery certificate must not present a negative PCR / Rapid test before arriving in Malta", is shown in the Visit Malta statement.
By 25 July, when this decision officially enters into force, all passengers must have an EU COVID digital certificate or a COVID infection recovery certificate or a negative COVID PCR / RAPID test. In addition, these certificates must comply with the validity rules. The rule applies to all people over the age of 12.
Malta intends to abandon the entry rules, despite the increase in cases of COVID infection across the European continent. The World Health Organization shows that Malta has registered 3.769 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last seven days.
