Over 24.5 million passengers transited Romanian airports in 2023, 17% more than in 2022.
Henri Coandă International Airport Bucharest (Otopeni), the largest in the country, had a number of 2023 million passengers in 14,6. The top five airports in Romania, according to the number of passengers, are: Otopeni (Bucharest), Cluj, Iași, Timisoara, Suceava.
Surprisingly, the Sibiu airport reached the seventh position, and the Timișoara airport left the podium. At the same time, the new airport in Brașov managed, in just six months, to register 79 passengers.
Furthermore, Tulcea airport remains the weakest airport in Romania, with the modest performance of reporting only 300 passengers, in the conditions where there are no frequent commercial flights.
