Passenger air traffic from Romania in Q1, increasing by 11.47% compared to the same period in 2019!

The passenger traffic recorded by Romanian airports in the first quarter of this year exceeded by 11,47% that recorded in the same period of 2019. The total number of passengers who transited the airports in the first three months of 2024 was higher by almost 5% and than the figures recorded by the airports in the first 3 months of last year.

Between January and March 2024, Romanian airports reported 5.187.925 passengers, up 11.47% compared to 2019 when there were 4.654.101 passengers and 4.81% higher than 2023 when 4.949.788 passengers were reported .

In Q1 2024, Henri Coandă Airport Bucharest - Otopeni was transited by 3.260.142 passengers of which 3.066.376 were on international flights. Cluj Airport recorded only 634.019 passengers, of which 567.049 were passengers. The podium is completed by the airport in Iasi with 477.739 passengers, of which 443.575 are international passengers.

At the bottom of the ranking is Tulcea airport with 2 passengers, Arad airport with 42 passengers and Baneasa Airport with 4.371 passengers.

Between January and March 2024, a cargo traffic of 12.442 tons and 51.062 aircraft movements were registered.
