Romania grants state aid to six airports affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

The government approved the granting of state aid amounting to over 21.3 million lei for six airports in Romania. State aid is provided to cover losses from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aid will be granted in the form of grants allocated through the budgets of the institutions under whose coordination it is until 24 December 2022, on the basis of economic support measures taken by the European Commission.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will allocate these amounts for the airport in Timisoara; and the County Councils will allocate the respective amounts to the airports in Iași, Sibiu, Craiova, Bacău and Suceava.
