The tourist season in Bulgaria starts on May 1st. The decision was agreed with the health authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova during her visit to the Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory. She was one of the ministers with whom Prime Minister Boyko Borissov visited the observatory.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated categorically that there will be clear rules and measures. In the coming days, measures will be approved for accommodation, dining and entertainment and will be valid for the entire summer season 2021. Mariana Nikolova mentioned that the Easter holidays represent a great opportunity for Bulgarian tourism, but also for tourists who want to travel for the mini-holiday of May 1 / Easter. "After the meeting we had with all the representatives of the tour operators and of the whole industry, we will offer safe green corridors for all the tourists who want to visit the country.", Informed the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov. According to him, the most important thing is the country's participation in the so-called "Green Certificate" for travel, which guarantees every tourist the right to 3 opportunities: vaccine, antibodies or a PCR test COVID-19, thus facilitating unrestricted travel, said the minister .
