The Board of Directors of the TAROM Company appoints Mr. Costin Iordache as General Manager
The Board of Directors of the TAROM Company decided on Friday, January 5, 2024, to appoint Mr. Costin Iordache as interim general manager of the company. Costin Iordache is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies, as well as of the Leadership Excellence program, within the University of Berlin. Mr. Iordache has over 18 years of experience in nationally and internationally renowned companies, such as ABN AMRO BANK, Romtelecom or Telekom Group.
In making the decision, the members of the Council appreciated both Mr. Iordache's direct contribution to the stabilization of TAROM's activity during his previous mandate as general director (January-October 2023), as well as the way in which he joined the team as financial director, in the new structure of TAROM's top management and, together with the commercial and general director, managed to lead the company in an important phase of the restructuring plan - the main objective that the current mandate continued to target, following the development of the next stages, with the aim of revitalize and optimize the company's activities.
The Board of Directors of the TAROM Company took into account ensuring the continuity of the company's activity and the restructuring plan assumed by the management. The mandate of Mr. Costin Iordache effectively starts from the first day when Bogdan Popescu, former general manager of TAROM, ends his activity in the company. Thus, all the decisions taken at the highest management level are continuously ensured by the general directors of the company, who represent the assumed policy of the company, the Board of Directors of TAROM and the Romanian state represented by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as a shareholder of TAROM.
The main objective of the management team remains the implementation of the restructuring plan that will lead to the revitalization of the company and its transformation into a profitable and modern organization, including those stages that previously require approvals from external forums.
