Xiamen Airlines completes order for six Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft
Boeing and Xiamen Airlines have announced the signing of a firm order for six Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. The order was placed in May 2011 and is worth 1.3 billion dollars at list price.
With a fleet consisting solely of Boeing aircraft, Xiamen Airlines has enjoyed constant evolution and has made a profit every year. It is one of the few airlines that have grown in recent years.
In the coming years, Xiamen Airlines will focus on new routes in Southeast and Northeast Asia. After taking over the first B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, Xiamen Airlines will fly from Fujian to destinations in Europe, North America and Australia.
Currently, Xiamen Airlines operates a fleet of 97 Boeing aircraft. Fly to 218 domestic destinations and 26 international and regional destinations. The 100 Boeing aircraft will join the Xiamen Airlines fleet in November 2013. Founded in 1984, Xiamen Airlines is based in the coastal city of Xiamen, Fujian Province.
