Bucharest – Toronto with HiSky, the next long-haul route from our country?

HiSky announced that it has obtained official authorization from the Department of Transport Canada to operate scheduled and charter flights to any destination in Canada.

On Monday, HiSky received from the Canadian Transport Agency the authorization to operate flights between Romania and Canada. According to the website of the Canadian government agency that regulates transport, by decision A-2024-49, the Romanian air operator is granted the license to operate regular international flights between the two countries in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement on air transport concluded between Canada and the countries of the European Union .

The Canadian regulatory authority considers that HiSky meets all the necessary conditions and therefore grants the company registered in Romania the license to carry out these flights, writes stiriprotv.ro.

According to market sources, HiSky plans to launch frequent flights on the Bucharest - Toronto route, the second long-haul route in the portfolio, after Bucharest - New York. It is not known when these flights could be launched, given that HiSky has not yet materialized its intentions to add a second wide-body aircraft to the fleet with which it can perform long-haul flights. For now, the company owns a single Airbus A330-200 registered YR-KID with which it will start operating direct flights Bucharest-New York from June 7.
