Irish airline Ryanair has announced the reopening of its bases in Tenerife and Lanzarote at the end of March or early April 2023. It will be a total investment of 400 million euros, the price of the planes allocated to the respective bases. Six new routes will also be inaugurated, a 10% increase over the summer 2022 route schedule. RYANAIR will have 520 flights per week in the 2023 summer season.

In fact, Ryanair is by far the number one airline in the Canary Islands in 2022 as well, and in 2023 it will break its record, with over four million additional seats.

After being forced to close both bases in early 2020 due to delays in the delivery of Boeing aircraft, its return to these popular holiday spots will create 120 jobs for highly skilled pilots, cabin crew and engineers.

The moment will coincide with the 20th anniversary of the first flight operated by RYANAIR to Spain. The new bases will receive four new aircraft (two to Tenerife and two to Lanzarote) and six new routes: Bordeaux (France), Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Nuremberg (Germany) from Tenerife South; Cologne (Germany), Knock (Ireland), Paris Beauvais (France) and Warsaw-Modlin (Poland) from Lanzarote.
