A Boeing 737-800 EgyptAir ran out of front leg tires
On October 25, a Boeing 737-800 EgyptAir, registered SU-GEE, flying MS2677 from Cairo (Egypt) to Medina (Saudi Arabia), ran out of front landing gear tires. The tires exploded at the moment of the impact with the runway of the airport in Medina.
Tire debris hit the fuselage, engines and wings hard. The aircraft stopped on the runway and the passengers disembarked. An in-flight inspection also showed damage to the lower left engine (CFM56) consistent with a possible runway impact. There were 154 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
The runway and the airport had to be closed for about 3 hours, he informs avherald.com.
