Cluj International Airport - the best airport in Europe in the category under 5 million passengers

"Avram Iancu" International Airport Cluj was designated for the first time, the best airport in Europe for less than 5 million passengers a year, during the 17th edition of the annual ACI Europe Awards Gala, held in Geneva. The event took place on the occasion of the 31st Congress and General Assembly of the International Airport Council - Europe Region (ACI EUROPE), which brought together leaders in the air transport industry from 55 countries.

The award was given to Cluj International Airport for the measures implemented in the management of the activity throughout the SARS-CoV-2 crisis and the reconversion of the workforce to adapt to pandemic conditions, for the rapid recovery of passenger traffic but also for the airport's efforts to bring new routes and airlines, which made Cluj International Airport now have more routes than before the pandemic.

During the General Assembly of the Board of Directors of ACI Europe, which took place yesterday, Mr. David Ciceo, General Manager of the International Airport "Avram Iancu" Cluj, was re-elected for a period of 3 years as a member of the management structure of this pan-European organization with responsibilities for representing the collective interests at the level of over 500 European airports. The re-election of Mr. David Ciceo to the ACI Europe board comes in recognition of his work and outstanding achievements over the years, both nationally and internationally.

Cluj International Airport has become over time, a regional leader recognized for the excellence of its services, professionalism and ability to adapt to the requirements of a constantly changing industry.

This prestigious award confirms the successful management of the activity during an unprecedented crisis worldwide and also completes the history of Cluj airport, appreciated internationally.
