Starting with 7 February 2014, Air France allows passengers to use their gadgets on board aircraft in all phases of flights.

EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) allows the use of portable electronic devices (PED) in all phases of flight, but only set to flight mode. Air France said gadgets are allowed on board its aircraft, but without Wi-Fi or other forms of data transfer.

Air France joins the other airlines that have approved the gadgets on board, and passengers can enjoy their use while the aircraft is running on the runway, taking off during the flight, upon landing. Exception are the 10-15 minutes of training done by the cabin staff. For your own safety, you should be careful.

British Airways and Ryanair have already announced that they have adopted the new PED measure.
