On 21 December, Emirates has acquired two new aircraft Airbus A380, units 43 and 44. The double delivery was made at the Airbus base in Hamburg, Germany. Both aircraft are configured in 3 classes: 14 seats in First Class, 76 seats in Business Class and 427 seats in Economy Class. Both A380 aircraft will immediately enter operational service and fly to Mauritius and Munich.

Currently, Emirates operates the largest A380 fleet in the world. It was the first airline to place orders for A380 since 2000. In November 2013, within the Dubai Airshow 2013, Emirates still ordered 50 units. This year, Emirates received 13 A380 units, followed by 2014 receiving the same number of A380 aircraft.

From the almost complete Dubai International Airport's Concourse A terminal, Emirates flies with A380 to 24 from destinations: Amsterdam, Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Dubai, Hong Kong, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, London Heathrow, Los Angeles, Manchester, Mauritius, Melbourne, Moscow, Munich, New York JFK, Paris, Rome, Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney, Toronto and Brisbane. In 2014, Emirates will fly with A380 to Zurich (January) and London Gatwick (30 to March 2014).
