flyDubai, the low-cost carrier in Dubai, has completed 14 years of flights. On 1 June 2009, FlyDubai welcomed its first passengers on board its inaugural flight FZ 157, on the Dubai – Beirut route. Since then, flyDubai has changed the way people travel to/from the UAE, allowing them to travel more places and more often.
flydubai has proven its ability to adapt and take decisive action, even in difficult times, thanks to its operational efficiency and business model. This was evident in the way the airline dealt with the challenges during the pandemic: maintaining the workforce, continuing to grow the network and returning to pre-pandemic levels in record time. All this was achieved by leveraging its internal resources.
Over its 14 years of flying, the airline has achieved many milestones, including:
- It has created a network of 120 destinations, stretching from Romania to Thailand, in 52 countries.
- It has opened 75 new routes that previously did not have direct air links to Dubai or were not served by a UAE national carrier.
- It has approximately 5.000 qualified professionals representing 136 nationalities.
- It has a fleet of 78 Boeing 737 aircraft.
- It carried more than 90 million passengers.
We can say that FlyDubai has made its mark in aviation. The history of FlyDubai continues to grow!
