With the relaxation of travel conditions in European countries and around the world, airlines are seeing a record increase in the number of bookings. Considering that we are a few days away from Easter 2022, people stormed the reservation systems to buy plane tickets for the holidays scheduled during the Easter period.

Lufthansa announces an avalanche of reservations and notes that most scheduled flights from the Frankfurt base for Easter have been fully booked. In Germany, the Easter holidays begin on April 8.

Lufthansa has made extensive preparations for the first significant travel period of 2022 and is increasing the number of airport employees to handle the hundreds of thousands of tourists who will fly during the spring break.

Lufthansa Group has estimated that 225.000 passengers will fly from Frankfurt in the first weekend of the holiday, which has led to the scheduling of more than 1500 flights. Most tourist destinations are in the Mediterranean region (Portugal, Spain, Greece, etc.) and on the west and east coasts of the United States.

Lufthansa recommends that passengers flying from Frankfurt show up at the airport at least 2.5 hours before the flight so that they can complete all the necessary formalities before the flight.

Lufthansa offers the option of uploading and digitally verifying documents on its website 72 hours before departure. Check-in is also available 23 hours before departure. Those who check in online will be able to check in their hold baggage directly at a baggage counter.

Lufthansa offers special services for families with children to ensure a relaxed start to the holiday. Parents with children up to the age of seven can use the Frankfurt Family Check-in area (Room A, counters 60-65). There are playgrounds for children at the airport.

During boarding, families with children up to the age of six may board before other passengers. Lufthansa offers children plenty of entertainment opportunities on board its aircraft, such as toys developed for the airline or children's entertainment program.

In addition, special children's menus and baby food are available, which can be pre-ordered at no extra cost up to 24 hours before departure. From April 11 to 18, they will also be treated with chocolate bunnies and eggs.
