Passengers who performed a Covid19 test at Lufthansa Centogene partner before departure can now receive test results in the CommonPass application. This applies to all Lufthansa flights from Frankfurt to the United States, as well as connecting flights through Frankfurt from Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin and Düsseldorf.

Lufthansa has thus taken another step in digitizing test certificates with the use of CommonPass, facilitating travel during the pandemic. In addition to the new digital certificate, the airline recommends that passengers continue to hold the original certificates in physical format when traveling.

Lufthansa customers can download the CommonPass app to Android and IOS devices and then upload test results to the app. They will receive an access code by e-mail from the company 72 hours before departure. The application automatically compares the test certificates with the current entry restrictions in the destination country and creates a travel certificate on this basis. The only condition is that the test certificate is valid for the destination.

The certificate only shows the really relevant information, such as the test result, the test method, the period of validity and an hour meter at the time of the test and therefore does not disclose other personal health information. In addition, Lufthansa passengers who choose to use the CommonPass app before their flights to the US will receive free access to the Senator Lounge at Frankfurt Airport between 08:00 and 12:45.

Prior verification of digital test certificates.

Lufthansa customers have the option to send Covid-19 test certificates and digital application confirmations to a healthcare center Specially created Lufthansa Group. This will be done through a contact form 72 hours before departure.

Passengers receive an advance notice and a link to a portal where relevant contact details and certificates can be stored. The documents are checked and passengers receive a confirmation e-mail if the certificates meet the entry requirements, or feedback if the supporting documents are not sufficient.
