On March 18, a Russian rocket attack on a western airport in Lviv, Ukraine, destroyed a factory near the airport and an aircraft repair hangar. Residents of the city were awakened by the sirens of the air raid just before dawn, and the mayor of Lviv said that "several missiles hit an aircraft repair hangar."

Writing in the Telegram, Mayor Andriy Sadovy said the building had been destroyed in the fire, but operations had already been suspended and no casualties had been reported.

Ukrainian air forces say that according to preliminary information, four Russian cruise missiles, which were launched from the Black Sea, from a few hundred kilometers away, hit the area. Two other Russian missiles were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses before reaching their target.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy Sadovy said the missiles did not directly hit Danylo Halytskyi International Airport, which is located six kilometers southeast of the city center.
