2023 is just around the corner and it's a great time to plan our future travels. Recent global events do not seem to have dampened the wanderlust and desire to discover new destinations. Based on a Booking.com study, we share with you the most popular destinations for 2023.
According to the study, 55% of respondents want to have an "off-grid" vacation, 44% will focus on mental health and mindfulness during the trip. Related to the mode of information, 43% of travelers will use virtual reality for inspiration. Below are some destinations recommended by Booking based on the study.
Sao Paulo, Brazil
The metropolis of São Paulo is home to 20 million locals known as "paulistanos". The concrete jungle boasts an explosive nightlife scene, with an array of underground clubs – perfect for the three-quarters (72%) of those open to 'nightlife-centric holidays' in 2023.
Budva, Montenegro
With one in five travelers (21%) saying the main thing they want from a trip in 2023 is to relax on a sunny beach, the western Montenegrin city of Budva is one of the top destinations to visit in Europe this year .
Pondicherry, India
The bohemian seaside town of Pondicherry is located on the southeast coast of India on the Bay of Bengal. With 44% of travelers saying they want to try a spiritual getaway in 2023 and 40% wanting a quiet retreat, this city attracts spiritually minded visitors.
Querétaro, Mexico
Querétaro is a city with a spring climate located in the central highlands. It is home to Peña de Bernal, one of the largest monoliths in the world. This is perfect for the 38% of travelers who are interested in alien exploration and UFO sightings.

Bolzano, Italy
Bolzano is the capital of South Tyrol, a region in northern Italy. It is an ideal alpine destination for hiking and skiing in the Italian Dolomites. In summer, travelers can take on the challenge of a mountain ascent. In winter, they can visit one of the ski resorts in the region.

Olomouc, Czech Republic
30% of those who participated in the Booking.com study mentioned that they want to discover lesser-known cities and destinations, and Olomouc fits perfectly into their preferences. It is a historical city, an alternative to the famous Czech capital – Prague. At the same time, it is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe.
