According to official data, Iasi Airport ended 2019 with a new traffic record, with 1.314.211 passengers crossing the airport. This is an increase of 4.58% compared to 2018, when 1.256.640 passengers were registered.
Compared to previous years, in 2019 Iasi Airport registered an increase in the number of passengers by 4.58% compared to 2018, by 14.57% compared to 2017 and by 48.9% compared to 2016.

In June the largest passenger air traffic was recorded at Iasi Airport in 2019. 122.007 passengers benefited from the services of the Iasi airport. An increase of approximately 20097 passengers compared to the same period of 2018 when there were 101.029 passengers.
Also in June 2019, the largest number of aircraft movements was recorded. There were 1.111 landings and take-offs, 71 more than in 2018 when there were 1040. Throughout 2019, there were 12493 aircraft movements, down from 2018.
The threshold of one million passengers was reached in September, one month earlier than in 2018. The moment was marked with representatives of Wizz Air, who also registered the number one passenger carried by the operator, in Iasi.
At the same time, Wizz Air announced six new flights starting with the summer of 2020 and the allocation of a new aircraft based in Iași. Moreover, the flight frequencies for certain tourist destinations operated by the company have been increased. The new routes are: Barcelona - Spain; Bari - Italy; Verona - Italy; Turin - Italy; Berlin Schönefeld - Germany; London Southend - United Kingdom.
