Israel is currently facing a terrorist attack on its southern border with the Gaza Strip. Although there have been rockets that have targeted a wider range, the attacks are limited to areas around the Gaza Strip.
Currently, almost 130.000 foreign tourists are in Israel and none of them were injured in the attacks. Of these approx 1000 tourists are pilgrims from Romania.
Ben Gurion Airport is open and operational, but the Allenby Bridge border crossing (the land crossing from Jordan to Israel) will be closed for the next 24 hours. All other land border crossing points are open.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) is monitoring the situation and communicating all updates to travel companies and airlines and is committed to ensuring that all tourists visiting Israel are safe and informed.
