0 1.115

In the context of the increase in air traffic - the months of July and August being traditionally the months in which it reaches the annual maximum values - CN Aeroporturi Bucharest recommends the following to passengers:

  • To be constantly informed about the take-off times of the aircraft, maintaining contact with the air operator. Always, when purchasing a plane ticket, leave your contact details so that you can receive information from the airline in case of any changes.
  • Check-in online from home to save time and, in some cases, even money.

Report to the airport at the time recommended by the airline, usually three hours before the scheduled flight time.

  • To avoid, as much as possible, traveling with checked baggage. In its absence and with online check-in, they can go directly to the security control, avoiding the queues at the counters. At your destination, you avoid waiting for baggage claim from the lane.
  • Do not carry valuables (jewelry, expensive electronics, etc.) or money in checked baggage. The airlines are not responsible for their loss, and in the extreme case that the luggage is lost, the compensation granted is limited and depends only on the weight of the luggage. Valuables are recommended to be kept on the passenger or in hand luggage.
  • To be informed on the rights of air passengers, including the compensations they can receive and the situations in which they can be granted. Regulation (EC) no. 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council clearly presents all the conditions.
  • To contact airline representatives (or handling companies representing airlines at airports) to receive information and, in case of flight delays/cancellations, the necessary assistance. The airline ticket is a contract between the passenger and the airline, and under it both parties have rights and obligations.
  • At airports in Romania, they should contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection - telephone 0219551 - when they believe that their rights as a consumer have been violated.

The recommendations mentioned above may be valid in most airports. At the same time, we also recommend that you avoid the 11 mistakes made when traveling! Follow airline recommendations regarding time and baggage. Get travel and medical insurance! Take all preventive measures and protect the money invested in vacations / trips! Claim your rights when you are eligible for them!
