Starting this year, Transalpina and Transfăgărășanul will no longer be closed depending on the calendar period. The hikers say that the two high-altitude roads will remain open as long as the weather is good, they inform RFI.ro.

Road maintenance employees carry out daily checks during this period on the respective sections, with the priority of guaranteeing safety conditions for drivers, according to CNAIR. With the change in the operating regulations, the closure of the high sections Rânca-Obârsia Lotrului, on the Transalpina, respectively Piscul Negru, Bâlea Lac, Bâlea Cascada on the Transfăgărășan, is no longer mandatory at the end of October.

In August, CNAIR announced that drivers can drive on the sector Rânca (km 34+800) – Obârsia Lotrului (km 59+800) in the time interval 8.00-20.00. There is a tonnage restriction (3,5 tons) on this road sector, and the maximum allowed travel speed is 30 km/h. Otherwise, road traffic between Rânca and Obârsia Lotrului was allowed between 8.00:18.00 a.m. and XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
