Turkish Airlines has started flying to Melbourne, Australia!

Turkish Airlines launched frequent flights to Melbourne, Australia, and hopes to launch flights to Sydney until the end of the year.

Turkish Airlines has added Melbourne as its first destination on the Australian mainland. Turkey's national carrier will operate flights to Melbourne, which stands out as Australia's most populous city, with special introductory prices, via the transfer point at Singapore International Airport Changi

Turkish Airlines started flying with Boeing 777 to Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, on February 29. From Wednesday, March 6, the route will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner, then from April 2024 with A350. Three weekly flights are operated in the 2024 summer season.

With the addition of flights to Melbourne, Turkish Airlines increases its number of destinations to 346 , as it rolls out its network across the Australian mainland for the first time. Australia now becomes a 130th country which joins its network, which means a presence on six continents. 

In 2023 , the number of passengers carried by Turkish Airlines increased by 16% compared to the previous year, reaching 83,4 million. Number of passengers international increased by over 14% to 54 million, while the number of domestic passengers increased 19% , to 30,4 million.

Turkish Airlines aims to double the number of aircraft in its fleet within 10 years and become one of the largest carriers in the world. The company currently operates a fleet of 440 aircraft, adding that its fleet will expand to 810 aircraft by 2033.
