Turkish Airlines will link Istanbul to Mogadishu

Turkish Airlines has big plans for 2012 and wants to increase its number of flights to the African continent. From 6 March 2012 Turkish Airlines (THY) will fly twice weekly between Istanbul and Mogadishu (Somalia).

The flights will be operated by Boeing 737-900ER aircraft and with a stopover at Khartoum. The TK686 flight will depart from Istanbul Ataturk airport on Tuesday and Thursday at 22: 15, landing at Mogadishu the next day at local time 07: 00. The return flight TK687 takes off from Mogadishu on Wednesday and Friday at 08: 00, landing in Istanbul at 15: 05. The price of a return ticket between Istanbul and Mogadishu starts from 426 euros, with all taxes included.

Turkish Airlines will be the first non-African airline to operate at Mogadishu Airport in 21 years and 3 after African Express Airways and Jubba Airways.
