From 1 July, Greece will apply new travel rules for those wishing to cross the Greek border.

Fill in the electronic form Passenger Locator Shape

Starting with July 1 2020, all persons entering the territory of the Hellenic Republic (by air, road or sea) are required to completewith at least 48 hours before the start of the journey, an electronic form (Passenger Locator Shape). It can provide electronic records of those traveling to Greece.

After completion, applicants will receive a unique registration confirmation code, to be submitted to the border authorities (in electronic or printed format) upon entering Greek territory.

The form is available in English at travel.gov.gr. General preventive measures remain mandatory (wearing a mask, disinfecting hands) and social distancing.

Can be performed randomized tests for Covid-19 infection. The person tested must wait, in conditions of self-isolation, at the address he has declared in the electronic form, the result of the test. Refusal to perform the test is sanctioned with a fine in the amount of 500 euros.

Entering and leaving Greece by land

However, between July 1-15, entry into the territory of Greece is allowed ONLY at the border crossing KULATA - PROMACHONAS.

Leaving the territory of Greece can be done through land border points:

  • EVZONI (KILKIS) - BOGORODITSA (NORTHERN MACEDONIA)
  • PROMACHONAS (SERRES) - KULATA (BULGARIA)
  • NIMFAIO (KOMOTINI) - MAKAZA (BULGARIA)

Airports in Greece are open

As of July 1, Greece has opened all airports, including those on the islands. That made it easier to resume charter flights from Timisoara towards Rhodes, Skiathos and Crete. Also from July 1, they were resumed charter flights from Cluj towards CorfuCrete-HeraklionCrete-ChaniaSkiathos and Zakynthos.

At the same time, we inform you that TAROM will resume flights Bucharest - Thessaloniki and increases the frequency of flights on the route Bucharest - Athens. And Aegean Airlines will operate 4 weekly flights on the route Bucharest - Athens.
