A United Airlines Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, which had taken off for Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Osaka, was forced to divert to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after one of the wheels detached from the left main spar.

Flight UA35 took off from San Francisco (SFO) at 10:53 local time on March 7, 2024. Shortly after takeoff, one of the six main gear wheels broke loose and fell into a parking lot, damaging the cars from the ground

Images captured the moment the 116-kilogram wheel detached from the main landing gear of the United Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

No casualties were reported on the ground, only material damage.
