TAP Portugal in 2016: Over 11.7 million passengers carried

2016 was a good year for TAP Portugal. He carried over 11.7 million passengers, recording an increase of 3.5% over 2015. However, load factorthe aircraft was on average of 78.6%.

December of 2016 was the best in TAP history. He transported 990 000 of passengers, with 26% more compared to the same period in 2015. Aircraft loading was 78.8%, an increase of 7.4% compared to December 2015.
A significant increase was recorded on flights to / from destinations in the United States. In 2016, TAP Portugal started operating flights on routes Lisbon - Boston and Lisbon New York JFK, but also operated frequency increases to Miami and Newark. All these changes have contributed to a significant increase in the number of passengers transported from / to the United States. It arrived at 472.000, o increase of about 65% compared to the same period in 2015.
And the African market has enjoyed growth. TAP Portugal has transported approximately 800 000 of passengers between Portugal and destinations in Africa, increasing with 75 000 compared to 2015. The highest growth was recorded in December 2016, which is 36% compared to December 2015.
Following the same trend, the Brazilian market also enjoyed an increase with 5 percent. In 2016, the number of passengers carried by TAP to / from destinations in Brazil reached 1.4 million.
On the mainland - domestic flights, Madeira, the Azores and Europe - TAP Portugal has shipped 8.99 million passengers, in increase by 4% in front for the same period in 2015.
In March 2016, TAP Portugal has launched the Ponte Aérea service, shuttle flights between Lisbon and Porto. On this route were recorded about 300 000 of passengers transport again average load factor was 73.1%.
