Over 1300 participants were present on Friday, 25 May 2012, in the Youth Park to take part in the "Olympic Day" cruise, organized by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee with the support of TAROM, the official carrier of the Romanian Olympic Lot.
The competition took place in three age categories, over different distances. Competitors aged between 10 and 14 years traveled a route of 1800 m on the main paved driveways of the park, and those aged between 15 and 18 years traveled a distance of 3,5 km, near the lake in the park, as runners from the open category, where there was no age limit.
"We are glad that despite the bad weather, the Olympic Day cross has been attended by over 1300 people, lovers of sport, and we would like to thank the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee for the efforts made in organizing this event. We are very proud that international athletes such as Violeta Becklea Szekely, Ionela Târlea or Laura Badea were with TAROM at this cross. "

The first three winners in each category received as prizes a bicycle for the winners of the first prize, a pair of reels for the second place occupants and a racket with a set of tennis balls for those who ranked third. In addition, all participants in the crossover received a shirt from the organizers.
