On July 3, the passengers of the flight easyJet EZY 8303, on the route London Gatwick - Menorca, operated by Airbus A319 registered G-EZAO, went through a moment of panic after a bomb threat.

It was necessary to activate the emergency protocol when the alarm was detected, it seems, in a social network that corresponded to a group of young people traveling on the island for a holiday.

The plane landed at 16:44, half an hour late, in a delimited area of the platform in Menorca so that the Civil Guard, which was waiting for its arrival, could proceed to check all the passengers' luggage, as well as the cabin.

The passengers of the plane got off the plane one by one after the agents, accompanied by the dogs specialized in explosives, had checked the suitcases and the goods that were stored on the runway. The passengers had to identify themselves and show their suitcases before the Civil Guard ceased control. Following the checks, it was found that everything was a false alarm.

According to the same security protocol, according to images released by some publications, the plane was escorted by a F-18 fighter jet of the Spanish Air Force after entering the national airspace.

The activation of the alarm caused a stir in the terminal in Menorca, although operations were not changed much, except for another Ryanair flight to London, which left almost two hours late, and of course the same plane from easyJet.

On Sunday evening, at 19:10, all operations were resumed at Menorca airport.
